We Fortify is a nonprofit land development and human services organization that builds villages and programs that elevate young adults out of poverty and give public service professionals a better chance to serve. By focusing on whole, healthy humans today, We Fortify works to build a more resilient, empowered, and prosperous future for generations to come.

Program Models
We Fortify delivers its mission through two dynamic, complementary divisions that together form a powerful force for social impact.

Elevate Villages
The primary mission of the Elevate Division is to build programmed communities that elevate young adults out of poverty into a state of economic and emotional stability and social connectedness. These villages provide safe, dignified housing within a supportive community alongside trauma-responsive therapies, life skills education, and support for living-wage career placement.

Noble Villages
The Noble Division builds dignified, affordable communities that serve public service professionals—such as teachers, police officers, firefighters, and nurses—so they can focus on their calling to serve. Noble Villages also generate a modest income that helps support key programming for Elevate Villages, moving the organizational model toward financial sustainability.

Approach
AJS Consulting Group collaborated with We Fortify to implement a structured grant-development framework, including a research calendar and annual submission schedule aligned with organizational priorities, village development phases, and capacity. AJS served as a self-directed extension of the We Fortify team, managing grant research and writing so internal staff could remain focused on resident support, partnerships, and program delivery.

Outcomes
Through this partnership, We Fortify expanded and diversified its funding base across public, private, and philanthropic sources. This diversification reduced financial risk, increased predictability in funding, and strengthened the organization’s ability to sustain existing villages and responsibly plan for future growth. The improved funding structure supports continuity of housing, services, and partnerships across both Elevate and Noble Villages.
