Michael Healy
Director Emeritus
A long-time writer and editor in the nonprofit field, Michael has over 25 years of experience focused on engaging foundations to advance the missions of educational, youth development, community service, international aid, and other nonprofit organizations. He has launched and developed foundation relations programs to secure institutional support for liberal arts colleges as well as medical and law schools.
With a collaborative style and commitment to constant improvement, Michael helps mission-oriented nonprofits achieve their potential in partnership with philanthropic individuals and organizations. Michael especially appreciates and supports grassroots organizations that offer solutions to vexing challenges and that build community to serve all.
Among his accomplishments, Michael takes pride in having supported the academic, professional, and personal development of youth and young adults at various educational institutions. Among particular accomplishments, his efforts helped launch the U.S. – China Partnership in Environmental Law at Vermont Law School, which has subsequently grown into the U.S. – Asia Partnership in Environmental Law. His greatest pride, though, is in his two adult children.
An Indiana native, Michael lived in New Jersey before his family relocated to Pennsylvania, where he attended college and graduate school. After working in New York City, Vermont, and Boston, he moved the Colorado Springs in 2013 to lead the Corporate and Foundation Relations program at Colorado College. Having learned first-hand of the vital role hospice services can play in families facing end-of-life challenges, he currently serves as a trustee of the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation. He also serves on the board of his small home owners association. Michael’s recreational pursuits include hiking, golfing, traveling, discussing politics, and enjoying films, music, and wine with friends.
